Grah!

I'm moving again, today actually, and I'm still not finished cleaning up. The packing's pretty much done though; I've just got my computer and this ginormous box of books to go.

Still in the good 'ol LV, just around the corner pretty much. A friend from work and his wife invited me and I said yes, because it would be a lot cheaper than an apartment, and I'd have a room all my own (not just some little alcove out of the way). Plus, it's not an old beat up trailer that's seen better days. And, I get a ride to and from work everyday.

And, somehow, I've become obsessed with Pokemon again. I honestly have no idea how that happened. One minute, I was playing Tales of Symphonia, writing a few fanfictions and BAM! I got this weird idea for a crossover and I was lost. Damnit. Oh well, it'll end soon enough. Probably when I've beaten Pearl and chained a few shinies from that one (I've already beaten Diamond).

I refuse to write any fanfiction for it. REFUSE! (I might not stay strong...no...I will stay strong).

Maybe I'll try for once a month?

I've been writing fanfiction again, though it's Tales of Symphonia. Also, I somehow got the drawing/creative but tonight and for the last four hours have drawn a picture, taken a digital photo, uploaded it to my computer and turned it into the icon I now have set as my default. Phew.

It's baby Lloyd...holding on to his father's hand...

I have another bit of the picture for a banner I was planning, but tonight this is what I was able to come up with.

Okay, off to start yet another fanfiction I have no intentions of ever finishing...

Fic: TOS Stars

Disclaimer: I don't own Tales of Symphonia. Rather, I don't own the rights to it; I do have the game.

Summary: Lloyd remembers the stars.
Spoilers: None really.

Lloyd lay staring up at the night sky, but wasn't seeing much. Or rather, he was seeing the sky as it was fourteen years ago.

”What's that one, Daddy?”

“That one is the great Warrior, who watches and protects us,” a deep voice intoned.

“Like you protect me and Mommy?”

“In a way.”

“Will you always protect me and Mommy?”

“Always.”

“I love you, Daddy.”

“I love you too, Lloyd.”

“Ooh! That one winkededed at me! It did!”

Laughter.

That was all he could remember of his past, before Dirk had found him. He didn't even remember what his mother looked like, or his father, but he remembered that voice. Deep, yet gentle and loving, telling him stories about the stars. And sometimes, when he fell asleep in class, it was that voice and not the Professor's that he heard speaking about the history of their world.

Suddenly, his vision was clouded by a face coming very close to his, a nose nearly touching his. He looked deep into those blue eyes, waiting...waiting...and then...”Boo!”

The girl jumped back, looking shocked, then giggled. “Lloyd! I'm sorry I startled you.”

The brown haired youth sat up and shook his head, smiling. “You don't have to apologize, Collette.”

“What were you thinking about?”

“The stars.”

The two of them sat and looked up at the sky, neither one needing to break the companionable silence.

Sometimes, Lloyd wished he could remember them, his real parents. But, as Collette slipped her hand into his, he reflected that he was probably the luckiest kid in the world.

I love wind storms! (sarcasm)

Thanks to the wind, the power got knocked out and I didn't get to write. It came back on this morning some time, but I was afraid to turn my computer back on with the wind still going strong.

On the other hand, I went to the grocery store. It was easy walking there because the wind was pushing me. Walking back with two bags of groceries was difficult, since I was walking against the wind. I couldn't breathe. But, I got home okay. And, about an hour ago, I turned my computer back on and downloaded a J-Pop song, the opening theme to the Japanese version of Tales of Symphonia. I'm glad it wasn't done for the gamecube version, otherwise I would have never played the game...I would have just sat around listening to the opening them, lol. As it is, I still like watching the pretty pictures. Pretty pretty pictures.

Okay, I'm going to write a quick fic. About Lloyd and Kratos. Because I can. And because I didn't write, even with pen and paper when I could have. Silly me.

Later!

So, I'm going to mess about, then see what happens at midnight, or see if I fall asleep at ten like I do every night.

Oh yeah, my boss was petting a co-worker's tiger.
Sometimes I really hate riding the bus. It leaves me feeling so drained and empty, that by the time I get home and get something to eat (or not) I'm ready to take a shower and go to bed. Even if it's only 7:30.

On the other hand, there is no way in hell I am going to get a car in this town.
A new year. A new day. So, let's see if I can keep up with that goal of writing something every single day. Even if it's just to pop in and say "Yo."

I need to go to Kinko's so I can print out my novel. I've read through it and decided that it is definitely worth saving and editing, and it doesn't need as much editing as I thought...just a lot of fleshing out and, in several cases, rewriting entirely. So, I'm going to have a hard copy of it to scribble all over and make notes for editing.

This coming Saturday, I'm going to try writing 50,000 words in a day. That is, from midnight to midnight, write until I can't move. Let's see how many words I can come up with.

So, once again, it is Saturday, and once again I embark upon a quest find a coat! And an appropriate outfit to wear to the company Christmas party. However, this should not be as ridiculous as last week's failed endeavor as I will be going to a store I know has things in my size.

Also, I got my new phone and it works great! *waves at libra_traveller*

Text messaging is so much easier with a qwerty keypad (and I absolutely love that qwerty is a real word according to Firefox, LOL).
Grr!

So, I had my roomie drop me off at Burlington Coat Factory so I could look and see if they had any coats in my size. If they did, I have no way of knowing, because that place is more unorganized than a flea market. Seriously. I spent about twenty minutes just looking for the coats themselves (which were in the center of the store, after having to pass through things that were definitely not coats), and when I found them, they were all over the place. There was a size twenty in with the twos, and eights in with the sixteens.

I left very quickly, because the store was crowded and it's really hard to browse in unorganized mess when people are grabbing things out of your hand and laughing triumphantly that they got what they needed and you were left standing empty handed. And all I was doing was looking at the size and price tag. Of course, that's what I get for going shopping during the holiday season.

So, after all that crap, I have to walk about a quarter of a mile to get from that store to a sidewalk, because the stores are not laid out for pedestrians, at all. Since the mall was right across where I finally got out, I decided to try the T-Mobile store inside and get my new phone, or at least ask about adding another line so I can give my mom one. I couldn't even get to the mall, because traffic was bumper to bumper in the parking lot, and a cop told me I couldn't walk through the parking lot from where I was at. When I asked him how and where I could walk across, he gave me a funny look and said he didn't really know either.

Oh well, I thought, there was another T-Mobile store another quarter of a mile away, and all I had to do to get to it was follow the sidewalk I was on, plus, I'd have to walk that way to get to the bus stop to get home anyway. When I got there? It wasn't open anymore. They had moved locations about six miles away.

So, I came home empty handed and still pissed off. And mostly because this stupid town, that is so proud of having a bus system because it helps cut down on pollution, is not really built for pedestrians, except on the Strip. And the buses? Well, they tell everyone that they can't get enough buses to do every route at fifteen minutes or so, because there's just not enough ridership. Except that they brag about how much ridership there is when trying to get people to buy bus passes and stuff. And they don't have enough ridership, because people can't rely on consistent service.

However, I can say that at least I got some exercise out of the whole ordeal. Oh, and when I was looking for the other T-Mobile store, I figured out how pedestrians can get into that particular mall. There's a sidewalk that goes around six large stores, breaks for cars to go through, and finally winds around to the mall storefront. So, if you're riding the bus, you basically have to travel in a big circle to get inside. Most people just cut across the parking lot, me included, because no one knows about this. And usually, this is okay, because it's not the holidays.

And now, I'm not mad anymore after typing that out. Feels so much better.

It is now eight-thirty in the morning where I'm at, and I need to go put my clothes on to wash. I've got some things planned for today. Shopping for some new clothes (and a nice jacket or coat because struggling to pull hoodies over my head every single day is annoying) and going to see the Golden Compass. I was, at first, thinking of just waiting to see if they're going to do the other two, because even though it's been a while since I read the books, I remember that the other two gave way more information and were more enjoyable than the first.

Heh, I bought Hogfather on DVD a few weeks ago. And, since my new computer is able to play DVD's, I'm going to cap it and make icons!

As with Dean Koontz, I'm wondering why I never tried Pratchett earlier...oh well, unlike Dean Koontz, I can re-read the Discworld novels. Sometimes the very next day! Especially the City Watch and the Witches. I have decided that Sam Vimes is somehow related to Granny Weatherwax. I don't care what anyone else says. >:P

I want a new phone too. One with a built in keyboard and then I can upgrade my text message service to unlimited and then not have to worry about the phone hanging up on me because I can just text everybody.

There was something else I was going to write about...but I forgot what it was. Oh well.

I'm going to try posting every day anyway. Just to get back into the habit of writing.

Later!

I felt like writing something, but after the rush of NaNo, I got hit with the 'blank page' syndrome. So, I'm just gonna ramble on about nothing here in my journal.

I'm going back to Texas for Christmas. Since buying the tickets around Thanksgiving, I've been having dreams about some guy offering me a job and me moving back there for good. Sometimes, I accept and it turns out that I'm a secretary of some sort, in one of those old PI movies. Pretty awesome. One time, I turned him down, and then he says he has to introduce me to someone, so I say yes, and it's my current boss, who tells me he's running away to get married, and then it's not really him but a person I knew in high school, whose name I don't remember, who is in disguise so that he can 'convince' me to go back to Texas for good.

Other times, when I turn the offer down, the dream just continues on into other weird things like being late for work because the bus driver won't let me get off the bus. Or having to walk through an abbey to get to the bus stop after working in a jungle.

My dreams have always been pretty interesting. It's just weird that on the nights that I can remember dreaming, it always starts off with that guy and the offer.

I've decided it's because I kinda miss being around my family. My sister now has a full time job and doesn't call me as often as she used to, and when she does we can't talk for long because the signal sucks. So, probably after Christmas I'll quit having the dreams.

Also, I'm really sick of my boss making cameos in my dreams. I mean, seriously. I have to deal with him all day at work, I don't wanna have him haunt my sleep too.

Yet another random update from me.

So, I've been working. And reading. And playing video games. Yep. My life is extremely interesting right now.

Although, I am going to do NaNoWriMO this year...that should be very interesting. I've finally decided to just let go and write whatever the heck my brain comes up with, even if it makes no sense.

Most of my fanfiction started out that way...it just was taken over by my inner editor. So, inner editor has been fired henceforth, no matter how stupid, ignorant, or just plain WTF? my writing my sound.

Also, I need to make a new icon. Pikachu is starting to get on my nerves. Stupid pikachu.

I am never ever going to get drunk again. There's really no point in having fun if you can't remember it. Especially if you can't remember why you smell like puke and are soaking wet from head to toe. Or the fact that the last thing you really remember is trying to mix vanilla vodka and Captain Morgan, and now you're at home and in bed (thankfully not someone elses).

Er....

I found this "Which Discworld Character Are You" quiz and took it. The results themselves aren't all that stunning, but then I looked at the other possibilities.

You scored as Lord Havelock Vetinari, You are Lord Vetinari! Supreme ruler of Ankh-Morpork! Cool, calculated, and always in control. You graduated from the assassins guild, but failed a course on stealth and camouflage, because the professor never saw you there (even though you attended every class). You always seem to know what everyone is thinking, and after a conversation with you, people feel that they have just escaped certain death.

<table border="0" width="300"

My sister and nephew came to visit a few weeks ago...actually it was more like a month...but who's counting? Anyway, I have a new spiffy digital camera that I took pictures with, and have just now taken them off my camera!

My mom's also in this one...she hates having her picture taken.

And I'm up an hour earlier than I need to be, because my roommate didn't tell me that he didn't have to go in until nine. Grrr. Oh well, I'll just probably be depressed (i.e. not talking to anyone, because for some reason that means there's something wrong with me...) at work again.

I'm not really tired, I just haven't felt like talking. It...wastes energy that could be focused on writing!

OMG! So I finally got my Wii hooked up to wireless. I have no idea why it wouldn't work before: maybe it has something to do with the fact that I have a new computer.

Typing is just a little bit difficult, but it's got me in the mood for updating this thing (even though I have a perfectly good computer not five feet away).

I'm thinking of writing a Tales of Symphonia fanfic, but there are too many plot Pikachus shocking the crap out of my brain. I wish they'd stop 'cause they're making me depressed at work.

And trying my hand at an lj cut---

Here's a pretty picture I took with my camera phone. I have no idea why it came out so nice looking--all the others I took are fuzzy and vague. Apparently, Lake Mead just likes having its picture taken...

Hm, I hope I remembered how to do an lj-cut...I haven't in such a long time...

Well, later!

Happy New Year

It's kind of fitting that my first new update in months should be on the first day of the new year. I honestly didn't plan it out that way, but some things just fall into place like that.

So many things have happened over the last year that it feels as though I've been living in some kind of time warp where time sometimes goes by at a snail's pace, and sometimes it's so fast that your head spins and you can't keep up.

Since I last updated, I've recieved a promotion and a raise at the place where I've been working. I've been there four months already, which gives me a small sense of security. I met a guy at a bus stop and went out with him for a couple of weeks, which was a big mistake, but I learned from it so I don't consider it a waste of time.

Other things have happened but they're relatively minor and I can't really remember all of them well enough to put them to words.

So, Happy New Year everyone, and I hope you all have good luck in everything you do.

P.S.

Never offer to pay someone some other way. They might just call you on it.
